Early Morning Preparations
The day starts well before sunrise, as I load up our work truck with the essential materials needed for today’s roofing project in Fairmount. The crisp morning air reminds me that fall is approaching, which means our schedule will soon be packed with homeowners wanting repairs before winter hits.
First Stop: Material Run
6:30 AM – We make our first stop at our supplier to pick up:
– Architectural shingles
– Underlayment
– Flashing materials
– Safety equipment
On the Job
By 7:00 AM, we’re setting up at our first residential project in Dewitt. The homeowner’s 20-year-old roof needs a complete replacement. The morning is spent carefully removing old shingles and inspecting the decking underneath.
Midday Progress
Lunch break is quick – just 30 minutes to refuel before getting back to work. The Syracuse summer sun is intense, but we stay hydrated and focused. Safety is always our top priority, especially when working on steeper pitches.
Afternoon Wrap-Up
As the day winds down, we ensure everything is properly cleaned up:
– Securing loose materials
– Magnetic sweep for nails
– Thorough property inspection
– Final quality check of completed work
End of Day
Before heading home, I complete the day’s documentation and prepare for tomorrow’s job in Clay. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to protect homes across Central New York, one roof at a time.
Being a roofer isn’t just about installing shingles – it’s about providing peace of mind to families throughout Syracuse and its surrounding communities. Whether we’re in Salina, Cicero, or anywhere in between, our commitment to quality craftsmanship never wavers.
